Not to say it’s a bad thing, but that other does have to protect themselves too; if you come across as any sort of psycho, it’ll be much more amplified than normal, as you are currently being watched under a microscope.

Being reasonable is all you can be now and if that other can’t cooperate, well, then you know you’ve done right and can wipe you hands free of the situation and move on. After all, playing silly games only wastes time and puts you down on their level. If you don’t believe in it, then don’t be sucked in to the ridiculousness of it all.
